Walls

With no consideration, no pity, no shame,
they have built walls around me, thick and high.
And now I sit here feeling hopeless.
I can’t think of anything else: this fate gnaws my mind—
because I had so much to do outside.
When they were building the walls, how could I not have noticed!
But I never heard the builders, not a sound.
Imperceptibly they have closed me off from the outside world.

দেওয়াল

সহানুভূতি দয়া লজ্জা ব্যতিরেকে;
তারা উঁচু ও মোটা দেওয়াল আমার চারিপাশে তুলেছিল।
আর আমি এখানে অসহায়ভাবে বসে আছি,
আর কিছুই ভাবতে পারছি না; আমার মনে এই ভাগ্য আমাকে কুটকুট করে জানান দিচ্ছে; আবদ্ধতা।

বর্হিজগতে আমার অনেক কিছু করার ছিল।
যখন তারা দেওয়াল গড়ে তুলেছিল;
কেন জানিনা আমি খেয়াল করিনি;
কিন্তু যখন স্থপতি নির্মাণ কার্য চালাচ্ছিল; একটা শব্দও শুনিনি।
অদৃশ্যতে তারা আমাকে বহির্বিশ্বের সম্পর্ক ছিন্ন করে; বদ্ধ করে রেখেছিল।
